After two years of production,\u00a0Neskowin: A Book of Found Photos<\/i><\/b>\u00a0is now at the printer, and we anticipate a shipment of books to Neskowin early this October!<\/p>\n

We have set a retail price of $100 per copy for this elegantly bound hardcover book, which will be housed inside a protective slipcase. At 312 pages, it is organized by decade and features images of Neskowin’s history from 1880 to 1980, along with photo captions and timelines that highlight significant historical events.<\/p>\n

As we are experiencing high demand for this keepsake volume, you are invited to prepay now. Or, we can hold a copy (or copies) in Neskowin for you to pick up at a later date. If you prefer, we can mail your book(s) to your home once we receive the shipment from the printer. For mailed copies, please add $20 per book to cover postage and packaging costs.<\/p>\n

We have added recipes from current members plus a few from the excellent cooks at St Joseph Altar Society in Cloverdale. The book features a number of vintage photographs from earlier times in our history. Hello Neskowin Community.<\/p>\n

While you may think a bear getting into your garbage isn’t a big deal, it can be deadly for the bear. Black bears that feed on garbage become habituated to people and can become aggressive. A habituated bear may have to be humanely killed to protect humans and ultimately to protect the larger bear population from learning the same behavior.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\n

Please keep bears, people and pets safe by securing your garbage and other items that attract bears. Living responsibly with black bears is possible and it’s up to everyone to do their part to keep people safe and bears wild.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\n

Keep garage doors closed, vehicles locked and secure buildings storing garbage, compost, pet food, birdseed, etc. Use bear-resistant trash cans or at the very least, take garbage out the morning of pick up and not the night before. Pick fruit from trees and don’t leave fallen fruit on the ground.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
